I am so smart, SMRT

http://reason.com/blog/2010/02/26/these-are-your-leaders-maxine

This woman is so obviously stupid, and uninformed, and yet she has the gall to criticize and attack bernanke. You might like what he's been doing, you might not, but there is no doubt he is a smart person, who knows what he's talking about. If you want to criticize a smart person about something they know well, and you're a stupid person, the least you could do is come informed, but congresspeople, are obviously too busy to bother becoming informed before attacking.

I couldn't think of a title

http://althouse.blogspot.com/2010/02/disingenuous-or-stupid-hendrik.html

It's funny how when a democrat says something that might be racist, it's awkwardness or haplessness, never something actually racist. But if a conservative said it, then it would be racist, and disgusting, and the conservative in question would be the worst kind of scum. It's kind like when i conservative says something stupid it's because conservatives are stupid, but when obama says he's visited 57 different states, or biden says "When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed" It's just a slip of the tongue, or a gaffe. Not possibly an indication of stupidity. This is only fair because we know (or at least the media knows if you don't) that conservatives are racists, and liberals are loving and appreciative of all races, and conservatives are stupid and liberals are smart. So naturally it's the responcibility of the media to enlighten those less fortunate than them by promoting story lines that we perpetuated those preconceptions, and downplaying any story line that might cause people to accidentally think that something else were possible.

I want what the dog's eating.

I had never heard any of this before. I find it remarkable that in a country that has been consumed by health care debate for the past several months, and as someone who has paid, if not avid, some attention, i have never heard this brought up by anyone. Seems like a pretty easy first step in improving medical care and reducing costs is having more hospitals. I can't see why anybody would have ever thought (or could continue to think) that blocking the building of hospitals could be a good thing. It seems to me you should be able to get unanimous support for over turning such foolishness if anyone in the public actually knew it existed. Once again i have to hope that this is an online prank, because it seems so odd that it couldn't be true, but i'm afraid i do believe that it is. The only way to reduce costs is to have more hospitals, and more doctors, and have them competing with each other. The idea that reducing competition reduces cost, or increases efficiency is a pillar of communist economics, and the reason why communist economics collapses (it's got crummy pillars.)

Me fail english? That's unpossible.

http://www.laweekly.com/2010-02-11/news/lausd-s-dance-of-the-lemons/

This is certainly horrifying. I almost hope it's an early april fool prank, because it is horrifying. I read something about texas vs. california a little while ago, which said that texas students tend to be 2 full grade levels beyond california students. This is certainly a good reason why. Imagine if it always cost 500,000 dollars to fire someone, nobody would ever get fired. No wonder california is bankrupt and going down the toilet. How can nobody see how insnane this system is. The worst part is the update where they want to plan to cut back on lifelong tenure for inexperienced teachers? What? What planet is this? So before it was common practice to give lifetime tenure to inexperienced teachers? And we are cutting back? How about eliminating lifetime tenure for any teacher. The whole idea of lifetime tenure is bizarre is the first place. I guess i can understand it somewhat in a university setting where you want to give a professor the opportunity to do research without having to constantly worrying about losing his job, but for what reason should teachers have lifetime guaranteed contracts, apparently long after they are capable of working? I suppose the teachers union would strike, but at this point i think you would have to say fine. Fire them all, and start from scratch. This is not a tenable situation. Better to have a whole year without school and just have kids be 1 year behind, than subject them to constantly being taught by inenpt teachers who have no incentive to do a better job because they are impossible to fire.

Kissing girls is a goodness

Perfect example of modern hypocrisy. The first article is about giving out 100,000 condoms to the athletes, and the second is about somebody having to leave the olympics because some girl pretend to give his medal a blowjob? Really? So on the one hand you are willing to admit that olympic athletes have plenty of sex, and endorse it by giving them condoms. But then a pictures comes out of a guy at a club with a girl kissing his medal and he's out. Neither of them were in a state of undress, i don't even understand why this picture is supposed to be risque. Either sex is supposed to be healthy normal thing for grown people to be engaging in (which we all know it is, and which is demonstrated by giving out the condoms) or it's something to be frowned upon, especially among our olympic athletes who are supposed to be role models (which seems to be the only conclusion to draw from the second article.) The first article talks about male medal winners having their pick of women to hook up with in a positve way, but then as soon as a picture comes out of someone actually hanging out with a woman he must be banished. I mean really, kaip suprast?

Your paintings look like the things they look like.

I will freely admit to being easily impressed by people who are artistically gifted, because i am so not artistically gifted. But this seems particularly impressive to me. Maybe it's not really that hard, and really just unusual, but it seems pretty cool to me.
